Forced to Resign? You May Have Been Dismissed.

If your employer forced you to resign, that may amount to a dismissal- and you could be entitled to compensation.
Sometimes, employers pressure employees into resigning instead of formally dismissing them. This can happen when they threaten to:
Bring charges of misconduct or theft
Claim you’ve been underperforming
Warn that a dismissal will affect your record or future employment
In such situations, you may feel you have no choice but to sign a resignation letter.
But if you did not resign voluntarily, and instead were pressured, intimidated, or coerced into it, that “resignation” may not be genuine.
That may be deemed an unfair dismissal, and you may be entitled to compensation.
A genuine resignation must be your own free decision, not one made under threat or pressure.
